These above were the last two pictures of Linus taken on November 9, 2007 shortly before he disappeared. These were taken at 1:45 P.M. in the afternoon, and by dinner time he had vanished without a trace. We have checked shelters, posted flyers, walked the neighborhood, and notified the Avid micro chip people - and they put him on a hotlist. We also notified his vet. He had a collar on with tags. We cannot understand why someone would steal somebody elses' cat!
Written on his birthday, August 15, 2008: We celebrate your life, today, little one. We love you so much, and the loss is still a huge heartbreak. We pray to God you are okay, and always will be. If you are in the arms of an angel, we prayerfully ask this angel to give you a kiss for us. Happy birthday, where ever you are. You are three years old today. You have been missing for 280 days this day.
Linus was born on August 15, 2005, and disappeared out of our lives on November 9, 2007 after 2:00 pm. He didn't show up for fixing dinner, as usual, at 4:00 pm. He had a tail injury that happened only three months prior. We think the two incidents were related. Also, he lost at least two collars just before he disappeared. He had on a fairly new turquoise collar with tags when he became missing.
Calvin misses his brother! These two were very close.
Linus had a tail injury that required emergency surgery to remove about 4 inches of his tail at the emergency vet hospital. It cost $610 to have this done in August, 2007. I cannot explain in words the suffering this caused Linus, for he was in terrible pain. The vet clinic gave him some very heavy duty pain medication for this, which helped, but he was still in a lot of pain. Then Linus disappeared on November 9th, 2007 on a Friday afternoon. We have to wonder if the two events were connected, somehow. We had at least $900 (including tail injury bill) invested in this cat, and for someone to take him, and do God-knows-what to such a lovable creature is unconscionable. Our pets are more than animals, they are family.
Update August 16, 2009: Linus has now passed his 4th birthday, and we still have not found him. We miss him as though this happened yesterday! How much it hurts... no pet thief will ever understand. May God have mercy on their souls, because this made me so sick I will not be able to recover from it.
God sees everything. God knows what happened to Linus, as what did happen to the other pets in our neighborhood that disappeared within days of each other. God knows who did this terrible thing. God may be merciful and patient, but someday these perpetrators will have to pay the cost of causing undue pain to these animals, plus their families. Forgiveness can happen, but only after repentance.
Linus has been missing 737 days as of this writing.
Linus has been missing longer than we had him for. He has been missing for 789 days. The losers that stole him, and the other peoples' pets, have much recompense to pay for, if they want to avoid the curse of breaking God's laws. "Thou shalt not steal" is a very clear Commandment that has dire consequences without return of the theft item, or animals, or payment for the unreturnable. These people could be pitied, but they are without remorse, and this is a consequence of sinfulness that these thieves prefer, and so therefore, God will repay them for our losses, and make sure these people will never be blessed, but cursed. All thieves must beware. There are consequences to all actions. You thieves have a long way to go to understand the Commandment, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." You have failed this simple thing.
